Cinderella's Closet

Cinderella's Closet
Cinderella's Closet is a community project that reaches students who have current financial difficulties and merit royal treatment by a “Fairy Godmother.” Through generous donations and volunteer participation from our members and the community, we provide formalwear, accessories, and services free of charge to our “Cinderellas.”

Done In A Day

Done In A Day
The Done In A Day (DIAD) Committee plans and implements short-term, hands-on volunteer projects in response to community needs and requests as they arise. Past projects have included collecting school supplies for children in need as they head back to school, refurbishing a teen center, and sorting food at a food bank.

Fitting In Together

Fitting In Together
Fitting in Together is a program that helps girls with the transition from elementary to middle school in social, emotional, and developmental areas. We partner with school districts and other community organizations to bring a curriculum designed to build self respect and promote healthy decision making in girls.

Frosty's Closet (a Done In A Day initiative)

Frosty's Closet (a Done In A Day initiative)
Frosty’s Closet is an initiative managed by our Done In A Day Committee. The program provides our community’s needy children with appropriate cold-weather gear for harsh Midwestern winters. Parents are able to bring their children to Frosty’s Closet and leave with coats, gloves, hats, boots and more - all free of charge.

Kids in the Kitchen (a Done In A Day initiative)

Kids in the Kitchen (a Done In A Day initiative)
Junior Leagues’ Kids in the Kitchen addresses the growing issues of childhood obesity and poor nutrition. We support this initiative and are committed to improving the health of today’s youth by empowering them to make choices that lead to healthy lifestyles. We provide informational materials, lessons, and demonstrations related to preparation of healthy meals and snacks that are both tasty and affordable.

SPAC
The State Public Affairs Committee of the Junior League is committed to ensuring that children have the opportunities and services essential for their physical, cognitive, emotional well being and growth; with an emphasis on advocacy for an integrated, community-based approach to preparedness and early intervention. This committee advocates by lobbying for legislation of the state and national levels on issues impacting children.

Story Wizards

Story Wizards
Story Wizards is a project that encourages a love of reading and promotes literacy for children at risk in the community. Our trained volunteers involve children in read-alouds and literacy activities, providing positive influences that the children need to succeed and become future readers.

Every Little Bottom

Every Little Bottom
The Junior League of Kane & DuPage Counties, Inc. (JLKD) is proud to partner with the Huggies® Every Little Bottom program to raise awareness about diaper need and to help address this need in our community and across the U.S. We will be promoting the program and holding diaper collections to actively assist these families in need.
