Done In A Day / Done In A Meeting Purpose Done In A Day (DIAD) provides a quick response or short term project support for Junior League communities. The Junior League of Kane and DuPage Counties (JLKD) provides volunteer support for community projects that can be accomplished in a one-time day, evening or weekend effort.
When nonprofit agencies are limited in achieving their goals because of lack of manpower, this program provides a dedicated group of JLKD volunteers to work on short-term projects. All projects meet a community need in Kane, DuPage, Kendall or Will Counties.
JLKD also organizes Done In A Meeting (DIAM) collections. A DIAM gives our membership an opportunity to donate items to organizations in need of specific items.
Past Project Examples - Mutual Ground Shelter – Teen Center: Redecorated, repainted and provided furnishings for a study and break room devoted to teens.
- Humanitarian Service Project – Birthday Project Wrapping: Wrapped birthday gifts for children in need.
- Glenwood School – Holiday Stockings: Donated Holiday stockings full of goodies to school children in St. Charles.
- Save Abandoned Babies Foundation: Baby Supply Baskets – Donated baby blankets and baby supplies to mothers in need.
- Mutual Ground Shelter – School Supplies: Donated back-to-school supplies to children in need.
